The Story of Brothers

When the Black Hawk helicopter of Captain Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire) is shot down in the mountains of Afghanistan, the Marines and his family presume he died in the wreckage. Meanwhile back at home, his younger brother Tommy Cahill (Jake Gyllenhaal) is just released from prison and attempts to fill the void left by his older brother, including with his lovely wife (Natalie Portman) and two young children. This cozy new arrangement undergoes another adjustment when Sam unexpectedly returns home after being held captive by Taliban fighters. Shifting emotions and role reversals cause growing tensions that inevitably create a new war – this time at home.
